A Video Game to end all Video Games...
Posted : 2 years ago on 12 December 2022 07:41 (A review of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)This Zelda has enchanted our minds with whimsy and fantasy. The lush detail and the riveting story makes it so powerful, so righteous, you'd be saying good-bye to reality within a few minutes. The emotions there had a real touch and added atmosphere to the game. It's like something we'd love to see in a theatre. This is what happened with Titanic, the movie monopolized the movie box office, while Zelda monopolized the video game industry. This is truly the best game of all time... For now. Because later we'll see a better Zelda, and we'll hopefully experience the power and beauty of a new fantasy world.

Legend of Zelda Breath of Fresh Air
Posted : 2 years ago on 12 December 2022 07:35 (A review of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)I have spent my whole life playing the Legend of Zelda series loving each entry of the series, however over time I have noticed that the series has become far too formulaic and after Skyward Sword hand holding was taken way too far. Which is why I am glad to say that Breath of the Wild has taken every bit of the formula that was monotonous and threw it completely out of the window.
For the first time since the first entry way back in 1986 you have complete freedom of how you want to approach the game. From the very first moments you see the world unfold around you it won't be long until you get to explore the large and vast world of Hyrule.
After you complete the very brief tutorial of the game you can go wherever you want and do whatever it is you want to do. Feel like going straight to Hyrule castle to fight Ganon? Go ahead but don't be surprised if your ass gets completely handed to you.
One thing to note in Breath of the Wild is that the difficulty of the game when it comes to combat has become increasingly harder and you must learn to adapt to new ways of handling these encounters as you play. There were many times I would be killed again and again forcing me to keep loading back into the same confrontation which forced me to change my approach.
With all my praises of this game the one complaint I habe is the story itself which given the scope and scale of the game I expected to be much more. I soon realized the true story of the game is your adventure and when I came to think of that I didn't mind so much that the story wasn't stronger as my adventure and my journey throughout the game was so fun and compelling that there were times where I didn't even notice the story so much.
I really hope to see where Nintendo can take the franchise from here and with their new approach to the Zelda formula I hope to see many Zelda games with this level of freedom in the future. A definite must own for Zelda fans and even those who are curious or new to the series.

Don't be fooled by its modest appearance!
Posted : 2 years ago on 12 December 2022 07:29 (A review of Undertale)In 'Undertale' you play Frisk, an androgynous young human who has entered a world of bizarre creatures. Luckily for Frisk, the first of this alien landscape's inhabitants to be encountered is a very helpful goat who takes them into her home and provides them with food and shelter -- but not all encounters end in such hospitality.
From socially awkward aeroplanes to demonic flowers and pun-loving skeletons, your travels in 'Undertale' will acquaint you with a wide variety of eccentric characters, all of whom have different ideas about Frisk, the first human to enter their land in a long time. The plot may sound ludicrous, but I advise even rather serious sorts to give it a chance. As the story advances, you'll realise that you've grown surprisingly attached to (some of) the things that call the Underground home.
The game features a lot of fighting, typically performed by pressing a certain key at the right time and using the arrows to dodge enemy hits in a 'Space Invaders' style. You're also given the choice to spare the creatures you come across (even the bosses), which has huge narrative implications.
Creator Toby Fox's music in 'Undertale' rather simple but highly enjoyable, and certainly enlivens both the exploration and combat. I was pleasantly surprised at how appropriate the various tracks are, and how Toby Fox seemed to implement each one at just the right moment.
This is a very cleverly designed game, and its simple appearance belies its intricate narrative and excellent writing. An outstanding job.

The explaination
Posted : 2 years ago on 12 December 2022 06:20 (A review of Doki Doki Literature Club!)On my first play through I had really only brushed the whole concept and shock value of the game which the average player understands. As I ventured more and more into the game I really had learned to love the attention to detail, the secret and hidden content. Every character has a back story to which tells why they act as they do and it adds a ton to the game. The conversation with Monika really tells good advice and ideologies and reveals a ton about the back story of the game and characters.

Absolutely amazing by mihoyo
Posted : 2 years ago on 11 December 2022 07:51 (A review of Genshin Impact)Well, I haven't played Zelda game so I don't know if this game looks similar to Zelda. What I know is mihoyo has done excellent job in this "open world" game, yes there are some glitches (not pointing glitches or not exactly the real glitches but...)as this is version 1.0.0 I hope they will increase the speed of the movement of all characters and also I hope they will also speed up the attacks by "us" . The story is awesome for v1.0.0 and also music is incredible it's kinda similar to Ori game

Very Underrated.
Posted : 2 years ago on 10 December 2022 08:35 (A review of Vagrant Story)Vagrant Story is one of the most underrated games and at the same time one of the best games made it in years.
Why not everybody like it?, one of the reasons is having a battle system very different from other games, it´s not easy to swallow at first but after a while you get use to it.
The first thing to make clear is that VS is not fully a RPG, is more a hybrid between various genres, there´s some RPG elements but there´s also action and you can explore like in a plataform game. Saying that don´t expect to visit towns and talk to people like in a RPG.
Yasumi Matsuno, creator of this game and another gem from Square, Final Fantasy Tactics, did a marvelous job along with his staff, including the composer of the music Hitoshi Sakimoto.
The plot is unique, very original, not the tipycal hero-has-to-save-the-world-collecting-crystals-and-stopping-a-villian, the characters are also a lot more complex than many characters from other games, the battle system requires all the attention from the player, if you want to survive you have to know everything that is requirer in order to kill the enemies, avoiding traps and a lot more.
I really liked that you can create your own weapons, that makes every battle different from another, keeping it from getting repetitive, and you have to master that aspect too if you want to have good weapons.
Great game in all it´s aspects, a truly underrated masterpiece.

Aggretsuko
Posted : 2 years ago on 10 December 2022 08:21 (A review of Aggretsuko)Think the Office meets Zootopia. It's dead serious, beautifully emotional, outrageously funny, and relatable to the point where it hurts. Most shows like this are empty and melodramatic, but this one just feels a lot more real.

A gothic horror RPG on the PS2
Posted : 2 years ago on 10 December 2022 08:00 (A review of Shadow Hearts)This game, along with the whole series, is a fave of mine. It is funny, was going to buy it when it was still new and then decided against it due to a negative review. Finally saw it in Gamestop for cheap and got it and loved it! Suffice to say, I do not bother reading reviews for games much anymore or decide whether to purchase a game due to a positive review. If I did, all I would own are call of duty games out the butt! Seriously, does anyone have any doubts that most game reviewers seem like they are paid off or something? Well, this game is an RPG that is turn based, but due to the awesome judgement wheel and Gothic, yet real world setting, this game is a step above most mainstream games in my book.
The story has a young woman whose father was recently killed on board a train when a strange gentlemanly man calling himself Roger Bacon begins killing the guards on the train with ease. A young man appears though and gets the girl away from him and thus his and the young woman's story begins as first the young woman is targeted by a strange sorcerer in Asia and then they most stop Roger Bacon from capturing Koudelka and unleashing evil upon the Earth!
The game play is very fun as you go to locations and fight monsters, shop and talk to people. The game is a bit on the short side, but it is a nice change a pace when all the games these days seem to go on forever. The combat is turn based, which I enjoy; however, it also keeps you involved with the judgement wheel. Hit the target or your character misses and hit the red zone and you do more damage! It makes for some really engaging combat!
So this game is great and the second part of a four game series and is more of a spin off of the first game, Koudelka on the first Playstation. It is way different than the trilogy on PS2, but Koudelka is in this one and it has the location of that game in this one so that is pretty cool. This is the most Gothic and horror driven of the trilogy as more humor would seep in the next installment and it becomes an outright comedy by the third. I rank this second of the three as the second game is so epic; unfortunately, the third would take a step or two back. This one is great fun, though it saddens me that the series ended on the PS2 because with the consoles they have now and how much can fit on a disc this series could have produced a game that spanned the whole globe!

Expect nothing bigger then this...
Posted : 2 years ago on 10 December 2022 05:12 (A review of Shadow Hearts: Covenant)Story: 10/10 Shadow Hearts Covenant continues some time after Shadow Hearts left off, Karin the female main heroine helps a man named Nicolai with vanquishing a demon but this demon is not a normal demon, this is Yuri a harmonixer, someone who can fuse with monsters/gods. The story is huge consisting of over 2 dvds with over 100 cut scenes, at least 5 hours of movie, and a lot of gaming, this story is not to be told much about it is only to be experienced.
Gameplay: 10/10 How you play in this game and how many weirds things you stumble upon is huge, everything is done with excellence from the battles to even the small things around Europe and Asia. If you expect something with a lot of action, a lot of funny small tweaks this is the game you should settled with it has everything.
Graphics: 9/10 The Graphics is overall almost perfect, why is it not perfect you ask maybe?. Well it is not something you will notice while playing the game, actually i think you will oversee it many thousand times, but sometimes when looking down on the ground it looks like a game from the first Playstation but other times it does everything it is needed to do so it is not something that will bother people that much.
Sound/Music: 10/10 The music in the game is perfect, the places where you go is filled with just the right music, it actually sometimes make you feel like you are in the game, the ending song is one of the best vocals from a singer, it is sung in Japanese but trust me you will love it. Every other tune is perfect, the music is worth a lot in this game. The actors does a great job in both versions, the people who doesn't think so does not have any sense for anything.
Characters: 10/10 Every character in the game is told about every person has a story and it isn't always easy doing just that. My favorite is of course Yuri and the old and rusty Robert Bacon but you cannot play as him just so you know, not to get your hopes up he he.
Overall: 9/10 If you want a shocking yet joyful ride then buy this game and head right into a fantasy world almost like reality. Everything from the opening and to the ending is shocking, especially if you have played Shadow Hearts then this ending will blow you completely away, this game is worth your time, don't cheat yourself take the ride and remember a single last sentence.
I'll never forget taking this journey with you? and meeting you. Being with you.

A TRUE MASTERPIECE
Posted : 2 years ago on 8 December 2022 05:11 (A review of Squid Game)No wonder this series took so long to create and it shows because there's literally not one flaw. It's perfect in every sense and has every major ingredient that makes it one of the best shows of this decade hands down!
The acting; absolutely incredible. The leads acting is stunning and beautiful even without him saying anything his facial expressions speaks volumes in VERY dramatic scenes (which scenes aren't?)
The directing is stellar and flawless. I love shows that are truly unique; Severance, Night Sky just to make a couple.
My favorite series just to give my opinion of this series context; Mr. Robot, The leftovers, Fargo, Dark, Altered Carbon S1, Westworld s1, Legion, Severance, Night Sky, Utopia UK, Black Mirror too many to list but if you like a few of said shows you will love this 100%.
You get attached to most of the characters and note: watch this with subtitles for the full experience as intended.
This is probably the most addicting bingable show 11 out of 10 easy.
You'll thank me give it a shot.
