4. Kasumi

Posted : 1 year, 4 months ago on 22 December 2022 01:01 (A review of Kasumi )

  • First Appearance: Dead or Alive
  • Voice Actress: Devon Aoki
  • Height: 5’4”
  • Hair Color: Copper Brown
  • Eye Color: Brown

Overview

The insanely attractive Kasumi is a female character that made her video game debut in the original Dead or Alive (1996). As one of the series’ original characters, Kasumi is often portrayed as Dead or Alive’s unofficial mascot, of sorts, as she is one of the game’s most popular characters and serves as one of its main protagonists. Characterized as the daughter of Shiden and Ayame, Kasumi was raised in an extremely wealthy (and pampering) home from a young age, granting her tremendous security, protection, and insulation from the effects of the outside world. Tragic circumstances would soon topple her family, however, as Kasumi’s brother, Hayate, was suddenly murdered by an unknown assailant. Seeking to avenge her brother’s death, Kasumi later left her aristocratic life in order to enter the first “Dead or Alive” tournament. There, she hoped to uncover the mystery surrounding her brother’s killer and to bring justice to his untimely (and unnecessary) death.

Powers and Abilities

Kasumi is an extremely gifted and accomplished fighter in the Dead or Alive franchise, and is renowned for her well-balanced nature in regard to her power, strength, and natural abilities. Possessing lightning-quick agility and speed, Kasumi is capable of quickly overwhelming her opponents before they can muster an effective defense against her attacks. Likewise, she possesses a versatile range in her attacks, and is capable of hitting targets at both short and long-range. Among some of her most notable moves are the powerful “roundhouse kick,” and “backwards flip kick.” She is also capable of teleporting at will, giving her a distinct advantage over her adversaries in combat. Taken together, she is virtually unstoppable when controlled by an experienced gamer.

Appearance

Regarding her physical attributes, Kasumi is well-known in the video game industry for her slender build, athletic frame, and nearly flawless skin. Although her character has underwent a number of artistic revisions in recent decades, much of her physical appearance has remained largely the same. This includes her signature chestnut-brown hair, amber-colored eyes, as well as her rounded face, thin nose, and full set of lips. Highlighting these features is her extremely revealing kimono dress that is cut high near the legs. Although this feature was supposedly designed for greater movement in the legs, her dress also reveals a considerable amount of cleavage, as well as her signature white stockings, and tiny white thong when either jumping or kicking. When viewed alongside her massive bust, slim waist, and wide hips that give her a distinct “hourglass” shape, one thing is certainly clear: Kasumi is a true head-turner, and is truly one of the sexiest video game characters ever created!

7. Poison Ivy

Posted : 1 year, 4 months ago on 22 December 2022 12:43 (A review of Poison Ivy (Arkham))

  • First Appearance: Batman: Arkham Asylum
  • Voice Actress: Tasia Valenza
  • Height: 5’6”
  • Hair Color: Red
  • Eye Color: Green

Overview

The beautiful Poison Ivy is a fictional character that first appeared in the Batman comic book series. Making her video game debut in the hit Batman: Arkham Asylum, Poison Ivy is characterized in the game as a plant-human hybrid that was created via a scientific experiment that went horribly wrong. Originally working as a botanist under the name, Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley, Poison Ivy’s accident later encouraged her to pursue ecologically-focused crimes (“eco-terrorism”) to rid the world of pollution and human-encroachment on nature. As such, her actions often place her in direct contact with Batman, who always seems to foil her nefarious plots before they reach fruition. In Arkham Asylum, for example, Poison Ivy attempts to inflict her will on others by infecting Arkham Island with her mutated plants. After a prolonged battle, however, she is once again defeated by Batman.

Powers and Abilities

Regarding her natural abilities in Arkham Asylum, Poison Ivy possesses a wide array of powers and abilities that stem from her powerful connection to nature. Among her most notable powers are chlorokinesis, toxikinesis, as well as her ability to exert control over pheromones (allowing her to seduce both men and women to do whatever she wills. Toxikinesis, in particular, is perhaps her most powerful attribute, as it provides Poison Ivy the ability to kill an individual with a single touch or kiss. Following contact, her body unleashes a powerful set of animal and plant-based toxins that enter their bloodstream, resulting in paralysis and death. As such, it also grants her immunity to nearly any bacteria, toxin, or pathogen on the planet.

Augmenting this impressive array of abilities is Poison Ivy’s genius-level intelligence, as well as her proficiency in hand-to-hand combat. When combined with her natural speed and agility, she is an incredibly beautiful (but deadly) opponent to nearly any adversary that crosses her path.

Appearance

Throughout the Arkham video game series, it is clear that Poison Ivy was designed with sex appeal in mind. In the game, she is depicted in a highly-revealing outfit that showcases her large bust, natural cleavage, as well as her stunning hourglass figure. Very little is left to the viewer’s imagination, as the only thing covering her body is a cluster of small leaves that serve as “panties,” along with a loosely-buttoned top that exposes her torso. When combined with her red hair and seductive green eyes, it is not difficult to see why Poison Ivy is one of the sexiest video game characters of all time!

8. Miranda Lawson

Posted : 1 year, 4 months ago on 22 December 2022 12:38 (A review of Miranda Lawson )

  • First Appearance: Mass Effect Galaxy
  • Voice Actress: Yvonne Strahovski
  • Height: 5’9”
  • Hair Color: Black
  • Eye Color: Blue

Overview

Miranda Lawson is a fictional female character that first appeared in the hit video game Mass Effect Galaxy. Portrayed in the series as a human Cerberus Officer, Miranda is a well-travelled (and informed) individual with a number of contacts stretching from Citadel Space to the hostile realm of the Nemean Abyss. Working as an operative, she maintains close contact with Jacob Taylor, and later became a key love-interest of Commander Shepherd throughout the series. Very little is currently known about her early life and upbringing; however, it is revealed that Miranda had at one point been genetically designed by her father, Henry Lawson, to be perfect in nearly every way. As such, she possesses no human mother, garnering all of her DNA from her father, who was both a rich and powerful businessman on Earth.

Powers and Abilities

Throughout the Mass Effect series, Miranda possesses a number of powers and natural abilities. One of her primary skills involves the ability to utilize telekinesis (via her biotic enhancements) for the purpose of constructing barriers, or to throw objects with tremendous velocity. These enhancements, in turn, also allow Miranda to create gravitational implosions within an object, resulting in massive damage. Combined with her genius-level intellect, tremendous physique (resulting from the biological enhancements of her DNA), as well as her superior reflexes and speed, Miranda Lawson is a highly-capable individual who is able to match (and overcome) nearly any adversary or obstacle that stands in her path.

Appearance

Regarding her overall appearance, Miranda is an extremely sexy video game character that is renowned for her height, fair skin, and curvaceous figure. Wearing a skintight uniform that accentuates all of her natural features nicely, gamers are given an in-depth view of her body’s more prominent areas as her large breasts, tight butt, and wide hips are hard to look away from. Combined with her dark blue eyes, shoulder-length black hair, and beautiful facial features, Miranda Lawson is the true definition of what a “perfect” woman looks like. For these reasons, she is definitely one of the hottest and sexiest video game characters to have appeared over the last few decades.

9. Cortana

Posted : 1 year, 4 months ago on 22 December 2022 12:34 (A review of Cortana)

  • First Appearance: Halo: Combat Evolved
  • Voice Actress: Jen Taylor
  • Height: Unknown
  • Hair Color: Purplish-Blue
  • Eye Color: Purplish-Blue

Overview

Cortana is a UNSC Artificial Intelligence construct that made her video game debut in Halo: Combat Evolved. Serving alongside the Master Chief for much of the Halo series, Cortana is portrayed as a flash-cloned copy of Dr. Catherine Halsey’s brain, and she was activated on Reach just before the planet fell to Covenant forces. Throughout the Halo franchise’s long history, Cortana’s primary mission was to aid SPARTANs with the infiltration of Covenant-based vessels, and to help capture a Covenant Prophet so that the UNSC could gain a valuable bargaining chip to negotiate peace. After such ambitions proved fruitless, however, Cortana was reassigned to John-117, where she helped him to destroy the first Halo ring, destroy the parasitic Flood, and defeat the Didact.

Powers and Abilities

As a sophisticated artificial intelligence, Cortana possessed a number of technological skills. Among her most notable traits was the ability to infiltrate (and access) computer systems and to actively learn from the data she acquired. Likewise, she was also highly-gifted in the realm of ship management, and was capable of controlling a variety of starships and battle-stations independently. Her intelligence, however, also became one of her primary downfalls, as she later entered a state of “rampancy” which left her with a desire to acquire additional power over her creators/makers.

Appearance

Regarding her physical attributes, Cortana is an incredibly attractive video game character renowned for her sexy appearance, charm, and natural beauty. Although she lacks a physical body (due to her origins as an Artificial Intelligence), Cortana’s holographic image resembles that of a naked female form, with purplish-blue skin, shoulder-length hair, purple eyes, and blue tattoo-like symbols that adorn much of her body. Possessing an extremely curvaceous figure, she is also renowned for her extremely large bust, hourglass shape, wide hips, and large butt. When combined with her lovely facial features, long legs, and nearly flawless form, Cortana is certainly worthy of inclusion on our current list.

Lively colourful and entertaining!

Posted : 1 year, 4 months ago on 18 December 2022 05:25 (A review of Nanny McPhee)

Nanny McPhee is an example of a film where I was put off by the trailers, but I am glad I saw the film, because it is a lively, well meaning and very colourful film. Not to mention entertaining... there are some very amusing scenes in the early parts of the film, with the children, who all gave spirited performances. The costumes and sets are very colourful, with beautiful vivid colours, perhaps a bit too much at times, but you can't deny the look of the film was lovely. The script was absolutely delightful, very lively and entertaining. But what made this film was the performance of Emma Thompson, who was just terrific. As was Colin Firth, and I thoroughly enjoyed Angela Lansbury's turn as an elderly aristocrat. The ending was easily the best scene of the film, the visuals were just amazing in that scene, and the music by Patrick Doyle was fun too. However, adults may get tired of some of the jokes, and there are some slow moments in the middle half, but I commend the film for its messaging, that were well meaning and thoughtful. All in all, a very enjoyable film, perhaps more for children, but adults will like the visuals and Emma Thompson. 8/10 Bethany Cox

The Best MOBA Ever.

Posted : 1 year, 4 months ago on 18 December 2022 04:53 (A review of League of Legends)

This is my most-played game. I played this game more than 3000 hours. As a old player I know somethings are not the same. I miss old times.

At Season 5 the Summoner's Rift was changed and that progress was real successful. Champions reworked and some champions were strong some champions were weak. They've fixed that champions in less than one month.

At Season 6 the marksman champions was changed and after the changes champion balance, items was real good. Season 7 was similiar but a little bit worse than Season 6.

At Season 8 they've deleted all of the old runes system and masteries. They make runes similiar to masteries but different. At the beginning of the season there was some champion, item, minion and jungler camp balance problems but slowly (realy slowly) they've fixed. But there was a real strong champions and also there was a real weak champions also.

At Season 9 reworked and new champions has begin to be real problems for balance. They did very different champions, that is good but that champions has different skills that anyone or anything can counter. For example Akali's Twilight Shroud (W) was even invisible under the turrets. That's not changed for 4 months. After 4 months they finally decided to nerf this skill. And it was not in just Akali. But in also Urgot, Irelia, Aatrox, Zoe all of the new and reworked champions were strong. I understand at the first patch of a new champion it can be strong or weak. But non of them was weak every new and reworked champions was really strong. And it continues with this way. I think they need to bring more balance to the champions. Also at S9 they changed the Ranked league system. But at the beginning they did very big mistakes and only way to fix was reset the leagues to Master League. Also special nerfs for ARAM is real bad. Do we really need stronger Nidalee in ARAM? No. And the Nexus Blitz game mode was a nightmare for sure. That game mode needs to be named Bugged Blitz.

I hope Champions, Items, Buffs and Nerfs will be better. It must be better.

Terrifc Dr Seuss adaptation

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 17 December 2022 11:45 (A review of Horton Hears a Who!)

I have always been a fan of Dr Seuss's funny and charming stories, but the adaptations of his work have had mixed results. There are timeless classics such as 1966's How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but there are also abominations such as 2003's The Cat in the Hat.

Horton Hears a Who! is one of the better adaptations of Dr Seuss's work, and succeeds amazingly well on its own terms. While aspects of the story are occasionally predictable and clichéd, and one or two of the character relationships could have been less obvious, it is colourful and hilarious entertainment for both children and adults, which compared to what it could've been is quite an achievement.

Even with the predictable and clichéd moments, Horton Hears a Who!'s story is a simple and entertaining one well done. This is further advantaged by fast pacing, funny and smart writing that stays reasonably loyal to Dr Seuss's style and very likable characters.

There is a lively vocal cast on board too, Jim Carrey shows he is great at comedy as well as drama and manages to be endearing as well as funny. Steve Carrell is great fun too, and it was delight to hear Annie's Carol Burnett in a supporting role. The soundtrack is infectious as well, but what made Horton Hears a Who! other than the humour was the animation, which is very clean, colourful and beautiful to look at.

All in all, a terrific film. 8/10 Bethany Cox

Rather disappointing effort from Tim Burton...

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 17 December 2022 11:24 (A review of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)

I know that the 1971 musical was unfaithful to the book, but I did much prefer that version to this well-intentioned but somewhat disappointing effort from Tim Burton, the director of Batman and Edward Scissorhands, and this adaptation was in some way more unfaithful in spirit than the 1971 film. The film does have some lovely sets and inventive visuals, the boat scene is fun if not as much as in the Wilder version, a great job is done with the Veruca Salt/squirrel scene and I liked the performances of Helena Bonham Carter, David Kelly and Freddie Highmore. But I was disappointed with Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. He just lacked the charm and grace Gene Wilder brought to the character, and I don't think Roald Dahl intended a characterisation that was more Michael Jackson than Willy Wonka. Some of the cast overact, especially the girl who plays Veruca Salt, even for the character the spiteful spoilt brat act was way overdone. I liked the music score by Danny Elfman which is filled with whimsy and appealing oddballness(I much prefer his Edward Scissorhands and Nightmare Before Christmas scores however), but the Oompa Loompa songs were rather annoying with none of the noisy melodies memorable and were shot like a music video. Tim Burton evidently tried to make the story darker, and in some respects to the book, it didn't quite work. A good example was the case of the additional character of Dr Wonka, as much as I like Christopher Lee, and he did perform well, but his character was unnecessary, and the script with some over-explanatory narration lacked the sparkle of the 1971 film consequently. The grandparents did bring some comedy, and the movie does start off well. But the unfaithfulness of the last half, meant that the whole film felt rushed and lacking in charm and magic which the Wilder had aplenty. 6/10 Bethany Cox.
