Even better than I remember
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 10:00 (A review of Watchmen)Revisited this classic, and it was such a joy to see that it's even better than I remember. The kindle edition makes me appreciate the layout and details on the individual panels even more because, of course, If you double tap, each panel fills the screen. If you don't know the story, it begins with the gruesome murder of a former masked crime fighter, and a conspiracy is gradually unveiled which raises a very awkward question about how far to go in pursuit of true world peace. Does any end justify the means it took to get there? This deserves to be up there with the same high esteem as the major literary classics. You'll spot things on repeated readings which you didn't notice the first time, so it's well worth adding this to your collection.

Amazing, insightful
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 09:48 (A review of Hollywood Monster: A Walk Down Elm Street with the Man of Your Dreams)This is a brilliant book! I'm a huge fan of Robert Englund, and Freddy Krueger, and I got an insightful and descriptive view of his life. He writes about his films and the colleges he went to and what it was like on set and about actors he's worked with, and funny stories as well. It gives you a great insight of Hollywood also. I wouldn't recommend the book if you don't know who he is, but if you're a fan, you will surely love this book. Well done Robert :)

Good funko of Mortal Kombat
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 09:18 (A review of Funko Pop Games: Mortal Combat-Kitana Collectible Vinyl Figure)Kitana is my favorite character of Mortal Kombat and since I saw the funko I knew I had to have it, I got it at a good price and arrived super fast, the seller was very attentive with all the tracking of the purchase. The box came in perfect condition and the figure has good paint finishes, the truth very nice.

NECA in perfection
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 09:15 (A review of NECA - Nightmare on Elm Street - 7" Scale Action Figure - Ultimate Freddy)Wow! As every time I buy a new figure from NECA, I am more than positively surprised.
The amount of detail that only NECA can manage is far superior to anything comparable.
For me, NECA is by far the best manufacturer of 7โ figures!
Here you first get Freddy himself in his iconic ugly red/green striped sweater, three heads (normally scowling, grinning widely and skinned), the hand with the severed fingers spurting green blood, the severed face, the phone out of his tongue sticking out and of course his equally iconic fedora. Everything is very detailed and painted very nicely. As usual with the Ultimate Editions, the whole thing comes in a beautiful window box.
Movable joints: head, shoulders, arms, wrists, hips, legs, knees and feet. There are hardly any limits to the imagination here.
Please note that NECA figures are NOT toys because of the amount of movable joints and fine details, they are sensitive or more sensitive than the stuff that Hasbro or Diamond Select offers, but they are so much more detailed.

You need these guys!!!
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 09:06 (A review of Horror Pocket Pop! Tin w/ Ghostface, Chucky and Billy)Bought these during the month of October. I always start my horror movie binge watching and decided to get these little guys to commemorate the season. Glad I did!! They are super cute!!! Purchaser be aware that you are buying mini, again I stress the mini, funko pop horror movie characters. Mini implying that they could fit in your pocket, a handful of them could actually. Dont let size stay you away from making the buy though. Good things do come in small sizes. The detail is great, coloring great, kind of wobbly standing on surfaces because if their size but there are ways around that issue I would imagine. My only complaint is that you are limited to only 2 tins of three characters each in the horror sector. I wish there were more offered cause I would snatch them up. I check on a monthly basis but no such luck yet...

Get it you won't regret it!
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 08:43 (A review of Mortal Kombat Kitana's Costume)I absolutely love this costume. I got a medium and it was a perfect fit. I'm 5'3" and 145lbs with D boobies so this was a really good fit. Very happy with this buy was definitely the center of attention while being safe with my mask. Boot covers were a little big however I was able to stitch them to my shorts to keep them from rolling down.

best of video game adaptation
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 08:13 (A review of Mortal Kombat)If the realm of Outworld wins Mortal Kombat ten consecutive times, Emperor Shao Kahn will be able allowed by the Elder Gods to conquer Earth. Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) is a sorcerer working for Shao Kahn who has already won nine times. Raiden (Christopher Lambert) is the god of thunder and protector of Earthrealm. Liu Kang (Robin Shou) enters the tournament to avenge his brother who was killed by Shang Tsung. Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby) is the brash Hollywood star out to prove his skills. Sonya Blade (Bridgette Wilson) is American special force chasing after criminal Kano onto the boat. Princess Kitana (Talisa Soto) helps the Earth fighters to keep it from sharing the same fate as her world.
The writing is not going to win any awards. The acting is competent. Cary-Hiroyuki is having fun. It is the best of video game adaptation. Most of all, it is an enjoyable adventure. The Liu Kang fights are great. It's terrific to see the video game characters come to life and that song is the best.

Weak pathetic fools.
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 07:55 (A review of Mortal Kombat)Who green lit this to be made this way? I guess New Line figured if it could contain blood and gore it would succeed, but even that is lackluster here.
There is 25 to 30 years worth of Mortal Kombat games and backstories to choose from and yet they introduce a brand new character named Cole who adds nothing to the film other than figuring out he can grow a poor man's version of Aquamans top.
The plot is weak. Shang T-Sung is killing off those who will fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament for Earth.... and we get no tournament??? Really?
The introduction to these characters is bad, and the villains are introduced so badly they belong in Mortal Kombat: Anhilation. Yes. Its that Bad! Shang T-Sung literally says each of his henchman names so the audience knows who they are... all located on a terrible bridge of some sort.
The movie becomes a train wreck with just about every decision it makes. It had potential to go places, but it just gets swept of its feet and fatalitied.
It's plan is to make a sequel. Why bother? Who cares where these characters are going and who will be in the next one? It's not worth continuing.

One of my best Funko Pop! action figure purchases.
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 07:29 (A review of Funko Pop! Mortal Kombat X - Mileena)Mileena is one of my favorite characters of the Mortal Kombat franchise. When I discovered this action figure, it was a no brainer to purchase. Mileena's default design in MKX is wonderful. A blend of Kitana's beauty mixed with tarkatan savageness. A great addition to any Mortal Kombat fan's collection.

Two Worlds One Epic Battle
Posted : 2 years, 3 months ago on 19 August 2022 05:57 (A review of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe)Warning: Spoilers
Two worlds collide in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe with a original story that will surprise comic book and video game fans a like.
While it does get some heat for being a T rated video game once you sit down and actually play it you find it more fun then one is lead to believe.
The game features 22 playable characters with two of them being unlockable. For Mortal Kombat you get to play as Sonya Blade, Sub- Zero, Scorpion, Liu Kang, Raiden, Kano, Kitana, Baraka, Jax, and Shang Tsung For DC Universe you get Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, The Joker, Captain Marvel, Deathstroke, Green Lantern, and The Flash. The two characters you get once you beat both sides of the story mode will be Darkseid and Shao Khan.
The game story mode plot has you playing on both sides where in the Mortal Kombat story line Shao Khan after his defeat is confronted by Raiden as Quan Chi created a portal to escape he is attacked by Shao Khan only for Raiden to use his attack to send Shao Khan into the portal unaware that at the same time Superman who had just defeated Darkseid use his heat ray on him as he try to escape causing both to merges into a new being which is causing both the DC and Mortal Kombat universes to cross paths.
Blinded by the rage the two sides see each other as the enemy. The rage is something used where the characters get a increase boost of energy during fights.
The new free fall is where a character can slam the other through a breakable wall giving them the chance to perform attacks or the other fighter will do a counter attack.
The graphics are very well done with the characters looking almost life like and they took the time to detail every thing about the characters
The level designs and very impress as well with the stages being inspired from DC and Mortal Kombat characters.
The controls do take a good time to get used to and some of the combos can be hard to perform so this is not for the avenge gamer so you will need to do a lot of game play to do better.
The voice acting is impressive with the actors actually taking the time to help sell the story of the game.
The game play is the strong point of the game where you may enjoy fighting your favorite characters from the two sides.
The game does have some problems such as the fact that it is not M mature and the fatalities are not what a Mortal Kombat fan would want to see since they kept it less. Also Batman and Wonder Woman and the others DC Superheroes have Heroic Brutalities where they beat their opponent badly.
But some of the finishing moves are pretty good so no worries on that.
Well the game did get blasted for not being M mature the game play makes it worth your while.
Overall if you're a fan of DC Comics or Mortal Kombat or just looking for a good crossover fighting game then I suggest picking this up since most stores have it for low price.
I give Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe an 8 out of 10
