It's an experience! A magical one.

Posted : 2 years ago on 24 December 2022 07:42 (A review of Avatar)

I was waiting for this day for the longest time. I was a kid back in 2009 when this movie released. So never got to watch it back then. But now when it rereleased I booked the first day show to a IMAX show and oh boy was I blown away! This is nothing short of a masterpiece! It's beyond belief how a film like this could've been made. Every scene, every shot is perfection. You are transferred to a different world and become so engrossed in the film. Never have I attended a movie where at the end of it people got up from their seats and started clapping! Last time this happened was after Infinity War. That movie too was a damn brilliant one. I'm from India and this is legit rare, where people go crazy, so crazy after any English film. This was one experience that I will never forget. I'm definitely going for it again next weekend cuz just once was not enough.

Every human on the planet needs to experience this magnificent work of art!

Avatar: The Way Of Water Is Perfect!

Posted : 2 years ago on 24 December 2022 06:19 (A review of Avatar: The Way of Water)

Possibly the longest movie i've ever watch in theater yet one of the most fascinating movie theater experience i've ever had in my life, Avatar: The Way Of Water is fun, emotional, and powerful, it hits all the notes perfectly, i never enjoy an adventure films specifically outside planet earth this much in a long time, the movie never stops amazed me not only in the details of all the visual and special effects, but the story of Avatar: The Way Of Water was just incredible, all of these characters are so well written, so well perform, and again i cannot say how much i'm still amazed by all the visual and special effects in this film and it basically 95% of this film was all freakin' CGI, it definitely some of the best ones i've seen, it's so detail and so good that not even one frame including the human where i found some CGI flawed, where i can see the green screen or the blue screen in the background just a little bit NONE of that!, everything is perfect, praise for all the effect team and they deserve all the awards for it, this is how you use a CGI in movie rightly people, back to the movie itself, James Cameron recently reveal that he had planned to make Avatar 6 and 7 and one of the sentence that he said was basically the only person that can make Avatar is him, and you god damn right, i don't think anybody can ever make an Avatar movie than the creator himself James Cameron, because The Way Of Water is simply go down as one of the best movie sequel ever made for me, yes, i like it even more than the first one, not only we got more characters on the film and specifically great characters, upgrade visual, i think a better far more superior story and again even though the villain of the movie still the same, somehow it works, we also got the world of water instead of forest world, now i'm not saying that Pandora isn't beautiful, but the world of water excited and amazed me even more, it's an 3 hours and 12 minutes of epic, with the first two hours being one of the most well paced also entertaining, emotional, and powerful build up, ended with an epic climax in the last hour that basically feels like a combination between both James Cameron Terminator and Titanic, lot's of emotion, solid, exciting, and epic battle, entertaining, and mind blowing, i love Avatar: The Way Of Water, it's simply top 10 movie of the year for me, never been so hooked up and locked in a 3 hours movie like this in a long time, it's like i was converted to the movie, it's spectacular, it's amazing, i don't mind if James Cameron will only do Avatar now, do not let anybody take over, Avatar: The Way Of Water is a superb sequel that fills with incredible performance by all the cast, amazingly detail visual and special effects, gorgeous looking film with gorgeous wild world, fantastic score and use of sound, fascinating story, a powerful journey with a lot of emotion and hearts to it, Avatar: The Way Of Water is perfect!, bring on the next one James Cameron!

A Child Of Woe

Posted : 2 years ago on 24 December 2022 05:05 (A review of Not Correct - Look for Link in Description)

As a life long fan devotee of Charles Addam's creepy and kooky family, I will be very judgmental of every adaptation that comes our way, and I have to say this mysterious and spooky series is amazing.

Jenna Ortega shines as the oldest Addams' daughter, it's almost as if she was born to play the child of woe. Ortega transformation into Wednesday seems effortless, she has all the quirks, coldness and mean insults associated with her, but in such an expert hands, Wednesday does not seem cartoonish nor one-dimensional, she is portrayed with incredible depth.

The series is also directed by Tim Burton, and his love for the macabre and Hammer Horror us incredibly noticeable here, and so is his dark sense of humor.

The supporting cast is incredible as well, specially Emma Myers as Enid, her colorful personality are a surprisingly well match for our color deprived protagonist.

If you were a fan of Wednesday Addams before you will love the series, id the character is new to you this series will make you fall for her.

A Gothic murder mystery with a twist of irreverent dark humor, there are not enough words to praise this series.

4. Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie)

Posted : 2 years ago on 24 December 2022 04:56 (A review of Larissa Weems)

Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) is one of the most interesting characters in Wednesday. Similar to Bianca, she is a good person who will do the right thing in the end, but who struggles when it comes to ethics. Ultimately, she is a fiercely protective woman who will do anything to protect her school and her students. A lot of times her actions don’t make sense to others as she constantly tries to hinder the investigation into the Hyde. However, manipulation and politics are how she prevents the school from breaking out into a panic or drawing too much attention to themselves. In the end, she proves that she really is a hero, and that she’s not afraid to make the kind of realistic and difficult decisions that heroes are sometimes tasked with.

6. Bianca (Joy Sunday)

Posted : 2 years ago on 24 December 2022 04:54 (A review of Bianca Barclay)

Bianca (Joy Sunday) starts out appearing to be a typical mean girl at Nevermore. However, she experiences quite a bit of growth throughout the series and viewers will even be left feeling sympathetic toward her. While she’s a bit snobby and mean, viewers can’t help but be impressed by the fact that she is the best at literally everything she does. Whether it is fencing, boating, schoolwork, etc, she is always giving everything her all. Meanwhile, some of her coldness can be explained by her sad history. She is accused of manipulating those she loves, forced to keep her Siren powers at bay, and threatened and controlled by her unloving mother. Despite having a reason to be uncaring and unkind, though, when it really comes down to it, Bianca is on the good side. She knows right from wrong and is willing to defend anyone in need.

5. Enid (Emma Myers)

Posted : 2 years ago on 24 December 2022 04:40 (A review of Enid Sinclair)

Enid (Emma Myers) is one of the best characters in Wednesday because she is so in line with some of the best themes of the Addams family. She is a character who is both unapologetically herself and who happily accepts everyone else, even if they are extremely different from her. Additionally, she is a total badass who will stop at nothing to protect her friends, even if it means attacking a Hyde while in werewolf form. While she’s very sweet and positive, she also knows where to draw the line and demand that others respect her. Her friendship with Wednesday is one of the best plot points in the show and she is an inspiration to viewers in more ways than one.

2. Wednesday (Jenna Ortega)

Posted : 2 years ago on 24 December 2022 04:35 (A review of Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega))

Wednesday is one of the best characters in Wednesday and not just because she’s the star of the show. Ortega’s performance as Wednesday was phenomenal, with some declaring it one of the best iterations of the character yet. She paid homage to the original Wednesday while also making her older, more layered, and complex. Wednesday is a truly interesting character and one that is very difficult to predict or figure out. On the one hand, she can be arrogant, condescending, manipulative, selfish, and anti-social. On the other hand, she can be fiercely passionate, brilliant, eccentric, and devoted to justice. Not to mention, she can be quite hilariously deadpan. She is a true gothic heroine who proves that being different doesn’t always mean bad.

Guess what? It's good!

Posted : 2 years ago on 23 December 2022 06:06 (A review of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? (2019))

Have been a huge fan of the Scooby Doo franchise since late single digits. The various incarnations vary in quality, with the best being the original 'Scooby Doo Where are You' and 'The Scooby Doo Show', also like a few of the shows that have a not so good reputation. And the worst being 'Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get a Clue' and most of 'Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo' other than the surprisingly good first season. Also really like a lot of the animated films, 'Witch's Ghost' and 'Zombie Island' being my favourites.

'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' sounded very interesting and really liked the idea of the gang solving crimes with various guest stars (a mix of real life celebrities in the film, music and sporting industries and popular characters). So a more modern version of 'The New Scooby Doo Movies', loved that show as a kid and quite a lot of episodes and guest stars hold up but some episodes and guest stars don't quite do it now. 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' is a very entertaining and well made show in my view that goes back to basics and stays true to the franchise's roots while having its own flavour. It's not consistent sure, but it was a show that showed promise from the beginning and continues to get better.

Admittedly not all the guest stars work, with some being annoying (Steve Urkel, Wanda Sykes, Jim Gaffigan though am going to rewatch their episodes and all of the show for that matter) or under-utilised (Abraham Lincoln, Christian Slater). While the humour mostly worked very well indeed, some of it went overboard on the silliness and felt forced (the Wonder Woman episode on first watch was too reliant on it).

Do agree with some regarding Kate Micucci's voice acting for Velma, which here comes over as too abrasive. Some of the clues could have gone into more depth, when Velma declares "it all makes perfect sense" or "it's all starting to come together" the viewer is like "it does/is?" Especially found it true of the earlier episodes. Again, this might all change on rewatch.

On the other hand, so much is good about 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who'. The animation has a lot of atmosphere, rich colour and even richer attention to detail. The music is dynamic and groovy, also loved the modern spin on the iconic classic theme tune for 'Scooby Doo Where are You'. The rest of the voice acting is very good, Matthew Lillard nails it as Shaggy (a more than worthy successor to the unsurpassed Casey Kasem) and Frank Welker shows no fatigue or long in the tooth-ness as Fred (and he's been voicing him for over half a century). The guest stars are also very well done and the guest stars that are not voiced by the real person resemble them surprisingly accurately (doing better in this regard than 'The New Scooby Doo Movies').

Writing is funny and smart on the whole, the classic Shaggy and Scooby goofiness endears. The stories may be generally formulaic structurally (true of much of the franchise though) are lively in pace, hugely entertaining and has suspense. Really liked that 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' went back to basics and stayed true to the franchise's roots even when modern, with nice references to past cases and villains (ie. The episode with The Flash). There are some very creative chase scenes visually and some of the reveals are not as obvious as those in most of the previous incarnations (a few surprises actually) due to more suspects than usual rather than a frequent case of "it could only have been one person" (unlike 'Be Cool Scooby Doo').

A big standout story-wise is the unique story structure for "The Last Inmate" (one of the best episodes of the show) and the creative concept for the Malcolm McDowell episode. The villains are very cool and creepy and also loved the exotic and varied locations that include Italy, ski settings, prisons and even space. The guest stars vary, but hit more than they miss. Morgan Freeman was a major hit and also really liked Hex Girls, Batman (both franchise favourites), Malcolm McDowell and Sia. Also liked how the mysteries revolved a lot around the guest stars' jobs and made the most of seeing them in action (i.e. Darcy Lynne). The Mystery Inc are on the whole on good form, with Shaggy and Scooby spot on, apart from instances where Velma came over as too much of a know it all.

Overall, very good and certainly enough to rewatch it, namely to see whether my thoughts on the earlier episodes fare better, worse or the same. 7.5/10.

2. Samus Aran

Posted : 2 years ago on 22 December 2022 01:07 (A review of Samus Aran )

  • First Appearance: Metroid
  • Voice Actress: Jennifer Hale; Alesia Glidewell
  • Height: 6’3”
  • Hair Color: Blonde
  • Eye Color: Bluish-green

Overview

The incredibly sexy Samus Aran is a playable character that made her video game debut in Metroid. Serving as the story’s main protagonist, Samus is portrayed in the Metroid series as a bounty hunter who was hired by the Galactic Federation to battle (and destroy) criminals known as “Space Pirates.” Samus was well-acquainted with the Space Pirates, as her home was raided and destroyed by them when she was only three years of age, leaving her orphaned and alone in the universe. After being rescued (and adopted) by a birdlike race of people known as the Chozo, Samus eventually became one of the finest warriors on their planet, training extensively in weaponry and hand-to-hand combat. After a brief stint with the Galactic Federation Army, Samus eventually set out on her own, driven by the memory of her parents, as well as the desire to capture (and kill) Ridley, the Space Pirate responsible for the destruction of her home and family.

Powers and Abilities

Samus Aran is a well-trained and gifted warrior with a number of powers and abilities. Utilizing a power suit that consists of military-grade armor (designed by the Chozo), Samus is granted unparalleled strength and agility, allowing her to jump, hover, and strike with incredible grace and power. Likewise, her suit provides her with a number of offensive and defensive capabilities, including a missile launcher, power bombs, and shielding that protects her from harm. In conjunction with her extensive knowledge of combat and military maneuvers, alien physiology (including Phazon, Metroid, and Chozo DNA), and extreme athleticism, Samus Aran is a powerful opponent that should never be underestimated in the field of combat.

Appearance

Samus Aran is an incredibly attractive woman, and is one of the first (playable) female characters to have been introduced in the video game industry. She is extremely tall for a lady (standing at 6’3”), and weighs approximately 198 pounds without her Power Suit. The vast majority of this weight, however, is the result of her extremely athletic and muscular body. Samus is also well-proportioned, possessing long legs, a massive bust, a slim waist, and wide hips (giving her the much-desired “hourglass” figure). Combined with her long blonde hair (which she wears in a ponytail), bluish-green eyes, and full set of lips, she is truly an incredible sight to behold (especially in her skintight “Zero-Suit” attire). As one of the sexiest figures in video game history, her number two ranking on our current list is well-deserved.

3. Tifa Lockhart

Posted : 2 years ago on 22 December 2022 01:04 (A review of Tifa Lockhart)

  • First Appearance: Final Fantasy VII
  • Voice Actress: Rachael Leigh Cook; Britt Baron; Yoko Asada
  • Height: 5’6”
  • Hair Color: Dark Brown
  • Eye Color: Reddish-Brown

Overview

The lovely Tifa Lockhart is a fictional character that made her first appearance in the hit video game Final Fantasy VII. Serving as one of the primary protagonists in the game, Tifa is portrayed as a close friend of Cloud Strife and is a key member of the resistance group known simply as “Avalanche.” Growing up with Cloud in Nibelheim, the pair is once again reunited in the game, prompting Tifa to coerce Cloud into joining Avalanche in order to battle the Shinra Electric Power Company (who was responsible for the destruction of their homeland). In the quest that ensues, Tifa plays a pivotal role in helping Cloud on his journey, aiding him in his fight against Sephiroth while also providing the group with much-needed encouragement and emotional support along the way.

Powers and Abilities

Throughout the game, Tifa Lockhart is characterized as an extremely powerful martial artist who was trained by the illustrious figure, Zangan. She is well-versed in both kicks and punches, and is renowned for her use of powerful “knuckles” and “claws” as her primary weapons. Some of her most notable moves include the powerful “Dolphin Blow,” as well as her “Meteor Strike” which inflicts massive amounts of damage on her enemies. Combined with her lightning-fast speed, reflexes, and agility (owing greatly to her training under Zangan), Tifa is a remarkably gifted fighter with the ability to defend herself (and others) from nearly any threat that presents itself.

Appearance

Regarding her overall appearance, Tifa Lockhart is a remarkably beautiful woman who is renowned for her dark brown (almost black) hair, reddish-brown eyes, and long legs. Throughout the game, she is portrayed as an extremely athletic individual, maintaining a slender (yet curvaceous) build characterized by wide hips, a slender waistline, and massive breasts (measuring 32 DDD). Complementing these beautiful features is Tifa’s revealing attire, which consists of a white sleeveless shirt that exposes her mid-torso, and a black miniskirt that shows off her legs and thighs. When combined with her beautiful face, thin nose, and lovely personality, Tifa Lockhart is a true head-turner in every conceivable way. For these reasons, she was an ideal choice for our current list of sexiest video game characters.
