this is by far the best game for the psp, and when it comes from the best gaming series of the ps2 its no wonder. psp games are often overlooked and are thought to be a far cry from the ps2 games but this title is just as good as god of war 1 and 2. this game is a prequel to god of war 1 which is a good idea as e get to not only find out but play through what happened to kratos before god of war 1 starts. it stays true to the previous titles which is something that is very rare in psp spin offs of ps2 games. its a fun and interesting game to play and belongs in everyones collections as do the previous 2 titles. the graphics are solid and for a psp game, the graphics sometimes amaze you, certainly an attractive game. in all my scores for this game are: gameplay: 10/10 graphics: 9/10 storyline:9/10
Crash Bandicoot
Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 26 June 2022 02:03 (A review of Crash Bandicoot)How exactly has Crash Bandicoot endured as an all-timer of a mascot? (Fun fact: Crash was almost named Wizzy the Wombat.) Whatever the appeal of a genetically engineered bandicoot is, Crash has probably fronted a few of your favorite childhood titles. Crash Bandicoot, Crash Team Racing, Crash Bash. You’ve spent a lot of time with the guy, so that’s worth something. What the hell even is a bandicoot? —B.L.

41. Doctor Albert W. Wiley
Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 26 June 2022 01:58 (A review of Dr. Wily)Mega Man’s nemesis, Dr. Wily, is a jealous hack that you may not have heard of unless you’ve played Mega Man and watched the animated cartoon, where his character developed. Dr. Wily, a jealous hack, is angry at Dr. Light’s accomplishments that created Mega Man. Dr. Wily. In his anger, Dr. Wily reprogrammed much robotics to become fighters in the last hope of…yes…taking the world over.

Wario
Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 26 June 2022 01:57 (A review of Wario)Arguably the hottest character on this list, Wario is just Mario but cooler, richer, and stronger. Not sure why Wario isn't Nintendo’s mascot, honestly. Compared to Wario, Mario looks like a weak little wimp. Maybe Nintendo should do some reconsidering on who gets all the chips. —C.S.

Barret
Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 26 June 2022 01:55 (A review of Barret Wallace)Two words: gun arm. Besides that, Barret is a charmer, and he brings so much passion and heart to Final Fantasy 7. In the remake in particular he is one of the most exciting party members to have by your side, constantly cracking jokes and even breaking the fourth wall at times. For instance, after a battle he’ll sing the classic victory fanfare while making references to the original. Barret is a down-to-business type who shows how much he cares for the environment, his friends, and humanity. Now, if only they’d put him in Mortal Kombat. —C.S.

Rather disappointing effort from Tim Burton...
Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 26 June 2022 08:03 (A review of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Widescreen Edition))I know that the 1971 musical was unfaithful to the book, but I did much prefer that version to this well-intentioned but somewhat disappointing effort from Tim Burton, the director of Batman and Edward Scissorhands, and this adaptation was in some way more unfaithful in spirit than the 1971 film. The film does have some lovely sets and inventive visuals, the boat scene is fun if not as much as in the Wilder version, a great job is done with the Veruca Salt/squirrel scene and I liked the performances of Helena Bonham Carter, David Kelly and Freddie Highmore. But I was disappointed with Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. He just lacked the charm and grace Gene Wilder brought to the character, and I don't think Roald Dahl intended a characterisation that was more Michael Jackson than Willy Wonka. Some of the cast overact, especially the girl who plays Veruca Salt, even for the character the spiteful spoilt brat act was way overdone. I liked the music score by Danny Elfman which is filled with whimsy and appealing oddballness(I much prefer his Edward Scissorhands and Nightmare Before Christmas scores however), but the Oompa Loompa songs were rather annoying with none of the noisy melodies memorable and were shot like a music video. Tim Burton evidently tried to make the story darker, and in some respects to the book, it didn't quite work. A good example was the case of the additional character of Dr Wonka, as much as I like Christopher Lee, and he did perform well, but his character was unnecessary, and the script with some over-explanatory narration lacked the sparkle of the 1971 film consequently. The grandparents did bring some comedy, and the movie does start off well. But the unfaithfulness of the last half, meant that the whole film felt rushed and lacking in charm and magic which the Wilder had aplenty. 6/10 Bethany Cox.

Charming, and hugely enjoyable!
Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 26 June 2022 07:57 (A review of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory)This is a hugely enjoyable film, based upon the book by Roald Dahl. The film does have a number of merits, especially the flawless performance of Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, a characterisation that is charming and funny at the same time. Another standout is Jack Albertson as Grandpa Joe, his scenes with Charlie were lovingly realised, but in his song, he was just hilarious, and his singing voice was remarkably good. However, whereas Peter Ostrum is perfectly agreeable in terms of acting as Charlie, he is let down by his lack of any real singing ability. Though the film does look beautiful with excellent cinematography and colourful sets, and the supporting characters like the Oompa Loompas, the odiously spoilt Veruca Salt, television addict Mike Tevee and the rather disgusting Violet Bueragarde, are very well done, and the actors are further advantaged by a wonderful sparkling script. The songs are lovely, especially Oompa Loompa, Imagination and I want it Now, though I will say I felt Cheer Up Charlie was rather tedious and slowed the film down quite considerably. Overall, a beautiful film, and I do think it is underrated. 8/10 Bethany Cox.

My childhood favourite!
Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 26 June 2022 07:34 (A review of The Wizard of Oz)I am 16, and I still love this movie. I grew up watching this, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Meet Me in Saint Louis, and I never tire of them. Judy Garland is wonderful as Dorothy, bringing a sense of vulnerability and sadness to the role, making Over The Rainbow more poignant than it already was. Ray Bolger, Jack Haley and Bert Lahr are really entertaining as her three friends. Billie Burke as Glinda, and the Munchkins were great fun too. The wicked witch of the west scared the life out of me here and still does, and even Frank Morgan does 5 roles to great comical effect. The songs are just fabulous, and so is the cinematography and the stunning scenery. True, the film isn't completely faithful to the book, but why does it have to be? If I had one minor drawback, it would be the singing voice of the Lion, but apart from that, this movie is a must-see! 10/10. Bethany Cox

The Best Game of Fantasy and War for PSP EVEERRR!
Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 25 June 2022 09:37 (A review of God of War: Ghost of Sparta)Warning: Spoilers
Perhaps this is the most appropriate game for the fantasy, battle, mythology and adventure genre that exists. Surpassing any of the unbearable (Tomb Raider) and even those of the franchise itself, including even the 2018 that to be honest was disappointing in every aspect of the genres mentioned above.
To be honest, this game, like the others in the saga, does not escape the cliché of immense brutality, a confusing HISTORY and an appealing script. However having an epic ending, beautiful effects (even on monsters) and an understandable family history.
This is the only GOW game in which you can play and still have those old sensations of experience in war fantasy that we liked to have in the Game Of Thrones series and in the books and films of The Hobbit and LOTR.
