32. Chisa Kotegawa

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 8 July 2022 04:46 (A review of Chisa Kotegawa)

Anime: Grand Blue

Amidst all of the naked, drunk, titan-looking, loud mouth guys in the show Chisa looks as tame as a lamb.

But not the shy kind of tame but more of the responsible adult type of tame.

And what can I say, it simply works.

Distancing herself from the shenanigans as well as getting Iori into trouble from time to time make her a force to be reckoned with. Like the final boss of the underwater waifu wars.

I do also think it needs to be pointed out how “family friendly” her cousins are… but hey that’s the way the news goes in anime.

33. Ayumi Otosaka

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 8 July 2022 04:45 (A review of Ayumi Otosaka)

Anime: Charlotte

She is the [Link removed - login to see] and don’t you dare say otherwise.

Besides being the cutest thing to have grazed the Charlotte universe, she’s also very mature for her age.

I mean, I didn’t know how to cook at that age. Or how to destroy a building for that matter.

She’s also one of us, as she shipped Nao and Yuu from the very beginning.

Her pout game is on point and the face she makes when she gets under Yuu’s skin is just priceless.

So sticks and stones may break my bones, but don’t give scalpels to children.

34. Kayo Hinazuki

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 8 July 2022 04:43 (A review of Kayo Hinazuki)

Anime: Erased

With anime girls, I often hear the statement “We have to protect her smile” and Kayo is exactly that kind of a character.

Representing the kuudere gang she’s usually very indifferent, but that only makes her occasional smile or blush that much more precious!

Although it could be argued that the killer was more committed to a certain relationship than she was, I still think that she deserves a spot.

35. Naru Kotoishi

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 8 July 2022 04:41 (A review of Naru Kotoishi)

Anime: Barakamon

In my humble opinion, Naru is one of the best written child characters in anime, ever.

She’s just beyond precious, always buzzing around and trying to make everyone happy.

She seemed like a nuisance at the very beginning to the protagonist. But let’s be honest, she was a fan favorite 10 seconds into her introduction.

You add to that the fact that she teaches Handa how to color outside of the lines and you get an A list character.

36. Nadeko Sengoku

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 8 July 2022 04:40 (A review of Nadeko Sengoku)

Anime: Bakemonogatari

Nadeko can scratch two of your itches depending on what part of the series you are on; so spoilers ahead.

At the beginning she’s the classic dandere: cute, shy, fumbles around with her words and has the heart of an angel.

But then she has an Orichimaru phase and falls straight into yandere territory.

So if you want a snuggle buddy or a boa constrictor, Nadeko is the gal for you.

38. Rinka Hayami

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 8 July 2022 04:37 (A review of Rinka Hayami)

Anime: Assassination Classroom

Her nickname is the tsundere sniper, come on that just buzzes with hype.

She and her partner-in-crime are the adults of the group, usually staying reserved and serious.

But she is beyond reliable. And is, in my opinion, one of the best assets the class has.

Sure Nagisa has the thunder clap and Karma can easily steal your girl. But long range is overpowered and Rinka looks adorable when holding a kitten.

39. Izumi Akazawa

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 8 July 2022 04:35 (A review of Izumi Akazawa)

Anime: Another

With Izumi you love her or hate her, I think it’s obvious which camp I fall under.

Okay she might not be the nicest. But she gets stuff done her way!

She takes initiative in finding the extra and ending the calamity.

Also she’s a slight tsundere, which you’ll find is a major plus on this list.

The fact that she’s also fairy humble and accepts her faults is like the icing on the cake.

9. Crimson Heads

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 7 July 2022 09:23 (A review of Crimson Heads)

First appearance: Resident Evil (2002)

Crimson Heads were one of the best new features in the Resident Evil remake.

These deep red zombies are born after a previously defeated undead undergoes the V-Act process and rises back up to continue their hunt for human flesh.

There just aren’t enough bullets to kill every zombie twice, so you’ll have to plan ahead and choose which zombies to kill in the first place.

You can also burn the bodies with gasoline or an incendiary grenade, but even the best of us are bound to miss a few.

14. Shino Asada

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 7 July 2022 04:09 (A review of Shino "Sinon" Asada)

Anime: Sword Art Online

Shino Asada looks like your typical timid classmate in real life, but inside the game (whether that’s Gun Gale Online or ALfheim Online) she’s a badass.

When Shino becomes Sinon, she becomes your ideal long-range party member. With her light blue hair and military jacket, she may as well be the cutest gunslinger in anime.

But as much as I can praise her character design all day, I love her backstory even more.

Sinon didn’t play GGO just because she wanted to. In truth, Sinon wanted to recover from her trauma of using guns.

Sinon wasn’t in the wrong to defend herself from an armed robber. But death and murder aren’t things a teenager should witness.

So whenever I see Sinon with her sniper rifle, I see bravery and a desire to move forward.

4. Touka Kirishima

Posted : 2 years, 6 months ago on 7 July 2022 11:39 (A review of Touka Kirishima)

Anime: Tokyo Ghoul

Touka is a ghoul, a vampire-like demon reliant on humans for sustenance.

Referred to often as ‘Rabbit’ for her stylized mask and tendency to bounce around hunting at night, she spends her days at school or as a waitress. Not too demonic but eh, she’s got a life.

Touka is the one to help our protagonist, Kaneki, with adjusting to his new life as a ghoul. Even if that job comes with some reluctance.

She doesn’t like getting close to people, with very few exceptions. But opens up throughout the series to become one of the best female Tokyo Ghoul characters.
